The 2015 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Sarah Beatty for the poster/PICO entitled:
Dynamic soil water repellency during infiltration of water, ethanol, and aqueous ethanol solutions in post wildfire soils (Beatty, S.; Smith, J.)

Sarah Beatty is a PhD student at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. She carries out laboratory and field-based experimental research to study dynamic soil water repellency and its expression during infiltration in post wildfire environments. The EGU 2015 poster presents a number of methodological approaches and analysis techniques to understand wetting behaviours in natural soils with varying levels of repellency. It also presents two conceptual models that integrate fractional wettability and contact angle dynamics at pore and cm scales.
