Start date: Late Spring/Early Summer 2022.
The Aerosol-Climate research group at the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of California – Merced seeks a postdoctoral scholar for a project that uses observation and model simulation to understand the impacts of coarse dust on the global climate system. Anticipated responsibilities of the postdoc will include conducting climate model simulations, analyzing climate model outputs, analyzing ground-, aircraft- and satellite-based observations, supervising graduate and undergraduate students, and leading manuscript preparation related to the project.
Basic qualifications include a Ph.D. in atmospheric science, physics, engineering, or related fields, strong quantitative and programming skills, general knowledge of atmospheric aerosols. Additional desired qualifications include experience running atmospheric models and analyzing their output, and strong scientific writing and presentation skills.
