It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a hosting member of the PRACE European distributed supercomputing infrastructure. We are glad to announce a new job opportunity to work at the Earth Sciences department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC).
We are looking for a motivated Researcher or Research Engineer to support the production of global climate simulations with IFS/NEMO at very high resolution (10 km and finer). This work will contribute to the development of the Climate Adaptation Digital Twins as part of the Destination Earth initiative. The applicant will work closely with scientists of the Climate Variability and Change group, to jointly assess whether the simulations are physically sound, and members of the Computational Earth Science group, who will provide guidance to integrate the latest model and workflow developments, debug potential model errors, and ensure that the simulations are performed efficiently. This position will offer the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and contribute to cutting-edge climate modeling research.
