Conference series: Submitting a proposal

As part of its conference series portfolio the EGU also welcomes proposals for conferences on solar system and planetary processes (Angioletta Coradini Conferences), on biochemical processes in the Earth system (Mary Anning Conferences), as well as on selected topics of geosciences with a socio-economic impact for developing regions (Alexander von Humboldt Conferences).

Angioletta Coradini Conferences aim to promote novel and innovative research related to all aspects of space research, in particular chemical and physical processes and their interactions with the Sun, other host stars, the heliosphere and astrospheres with the planetary magnetospheres, atmospheres and climate. The conferences are named in honour of Angioletta Coradini (1946–2011) an Italian astrophysicist and planetary scientist.

Mary Anning Conferences aim to promote novel and innovative research related to biogeochemical cycles in the Earth system. The conferences intend to bring together experienced and early career scientists for an interdisciplinary discussion on all aspects of chemical, physical, and biological processes and their interactions in the atmosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere. The conferences are named in honour of Mary Anning (1799–1847), an English palaeontologist and fossil collector.

The Alexander von Humboldt Conferences of the European Geosciences Union are a series of meetings held outside of Europe, in particular in South America, Africa or Asia, on selected topics of geosciences with a socio-economic impact for regions on these continents, jointly organised with the scientists and their institutes and the institutions of these regions.

Submit a new proposal

Proposals for conferences can be submitted only during the official submission periods. All proposals will be considered for approval by the Topical Events Committee. Decisions for or against support are based on scientific merit, timeliness, relevance and feasibility of the proposal, and cannot be disputed by the applicant(s).

Conference applications are currently closed.

Submission periods are usually from 1. June – 15. August every year. Evaluation results are expected to be published within three months after the submission deadline.
